The full Unicode range is divided into planes. Each plane goes from 0000-FFFF in hex.

DBT 12.7 only reads plane 0. DBT 12.7 sr1 supports 54 Unicode ranges in plane 1.

This handy chart does not address which DBT template to use. Ancient languages should use the Semitic languages template (which is uncontracted). South Asian scripts should use Hindi. The "Arabic Mathematical Symbols" should use Arabic. Many others can use English UEB.

It's Plane Confusing

Here is a listing of Unicode planes. Each plane contains up to 65,000 characters. DBT handles most of plane 0, and some of plane 1.
