4.1 Identification of unit symbols

_ Label for unit symbols

Unit symbols, the unit identifier _ will be preceded by a message. It does not matter if they are genuine measures units such as meters or auxiliary units such as percent. If several units form a unit complex, it is necessary only one indicator, as long as the complex is not empty characters or values is interrupted. If a unit refers directly to a value, it will be called the prefixed license plate directly to this closed. To become spaces in a black letter template ignored here.

The labeling of units replaces the typographic Means the inkprint to distinguish the variables of unit and function symbols are available. In order to avoid a possible likelihood of confusion to prevent boltypen, the inkprint uses - from Readers often only unconsciously perceived - drucktech- nicer subtleties. Typical visual identification features are just set letters for units and italic for Variables - or a space (full or half) before entry symbols, but not variables.

4.5 Enlargement and Reduction Prefixes

Enlargement and reduction prefixes are used by a multiple or a fraction of a basic unit form. The best known are those of the International Unit system (SI), for example "k" ("kilo", the thousand- basic unit) and "m" ("milli", one-thousandth of the Basic unit). They are treated as part of the unit delt. The unit identifier _ is therefore prefixed and not in front of the basic unit.
