World Chart of Nations, Languages, DBT, and Braille Mathematics

This chart is an attempt to show which language is spoken in which nations; as well as showing the correct DBT Template with the consequences for the resulting braille mathematics system.

This chart needs lots of explanation

UEB default means that you get UEB braille math, even if that is not your wish. Several nations have decided to accept UEB braille math, since they recognize how easy it is to produce from Duxbury DBT. So far, this list consists of Malta, Mongolia, and Romania. If you have a voice in deciding which braille mathematics system to use in your country, feel free to vote for UEB math, so we can add your name to this alliance of nations.
Judging the status of languages for many African nations is tricky. We do not wish to impose a European language as the sole language we support in a nation. For example, it is better to be able to list Swahili for Uganda and Kenya instead of just offering English. If there are many languages used in a nation, we are more comfortable leaving the language section blank than offering one minority language or a European language unless it is clear that this language is the overwhelming language of education.
We might have our facts wrong. If anyone can assist us with definitive information on any issue, we would appreciate it.
The Arabic, German, and Russian braille math translators are brand new in version 12.4 DBT. We welcome your comments on how we can improve these.
Duxbury Systems acknowledges that we do not support Quebec correctly. Quebec wants a Quebec version of Nemeth code supported. This currently not supported in Duxbury DBT.
(TBD) means to be done, that is, not in Duxbury DBT yet. The real effect now is the same as UEB default.

The difference between UEB default and UEB math is subtle. There are the same braille code. UEB math means that this nations intends to use UEB math. UEB default means that Duxbury Systems produces UEB math for this language rather than produce nothing useful at all.

Regarding UEB math: If you use a DBT Template that starts with English (UEB) then the translator can provide math notation for any DBT style. If you use a DBT Template with a different name, then the math notation is restricted to the use the of math DBT style.
