Oct. 14--WESTFORD, Mass.--Three Graniteville properties owned by a delinquent landlord have been seized by the mortgage company, but their fate is unclear.
The parcels, valued at a total of $651,000 and formerly owned by Westford resident Chris Franklin, are now the property of the R&W Realty Trust, but Franklin said Friday he doesn't know what will happen to them.
The mortgage-holder foreclosed on two parcels with the address of 10 North Main St., and one at 48 River St.
"You never see it as a positive thing when people are struggling and trying to hang on and pay bills, but the amount of people power required to stay on top of this is over the top," said Selectman Dini Healy-Coffin, who had Franklin's delinquent properties put on the selectmen's agenda as a regularly recurring discussion to make sure the issue was settled.
