Target Chapter Naming Methods

When you process more than one chapter with Replace characters, Grade 2 translator, and Copy chapters, BEX asks you how it should name the new chapters it's creating. The naming method has three parts:

FIRST: Disk drive number The number you put here tells BEX to write the chapters on that disk drive. A zero here tells BEX to write the new chapters on the same disk drive where the source chapters are. Add a period after the number to use a naming method even if there's only one chapter. When you don't put a number here, then BEX assumes you're writing on your default data drive--the highest disk drive number you've configured.

SECOND: Modification instruction The letter A tells BEX to name the target chapters by adding the characters from the third box to the source chapter names. The letter S tells BEX to name the target chapters exactly the same as the source chapters; any characters in the third box are ignored. The letter D tells BEX to name the target chapters by deleting the last character of the source chapter names; any characters in the third box are ignored.

THIRD: Characters to add You can put any number of characters in this third box, as long as the total BEX chapter name won't exceed 25 characters.
