Magazines: "Open-Apple, January 1985"
The premier issue of Tom Weishaar's Open-Apple newsletter. Notice the picture at the bottom left, of the three fat men; this was from the "Apple II Forever" event at San Francisco where the Apple IIc was introduced. The three men were named Matthew Monitor, Dr. Basic, and Uncle DOS, and represented the position in Apple II high memory of the Monitor, BASIC, and DOS. "Uncle DOS" eventually became a name applied to Tom Weishaar himself, due to his letters column, "Ask Uncle DOS". The style of graphics was quite similar to the style used in Beagle Bros ads.
