Magazines: "Radio-Electronics, July 1974"
This is the information about this cover, and about the Mark-8 computer that John Lewczyk posted on his web site (and is reproduced here with his permission):
A scan of my copy of the magazine with the construction article. (Notice the mailing label.) In order to build the Mark-8, you had to send away $5 in a SASE to the magazine to get the complete plans. They sent you a 50 page project construction booklet which included the printed circuit board layouts. You could purchase the set of 6 circuit boards for $47.50. The 8008 microprocessor was available from Intel for $120 at the time. According to its creator, Jonathan Titus, only about 400 board sets and 7500 construction booklets were sold. |
