Peripheral Cards - Apple: "Disk II Controller"
This is the famous Disk II controller that the genius of Steve Wozniak created, making disk storage finally possible for the Apple II. The only problem with the design of the card itself was primarily a user-related problem, rather than a function problem. The issue was that it was all too easy to plug in the disk drive cable to the card either backwards or off by one set of pins, which made it quite likely that the drive would be fried. This picture shows the card that was sold with DOS 3.3, capable of reading and writing 16-sector disks, which increased the storage capability of the 5.25 floppy disks.
