David,
Congratulations on this wonderful occasion. I can not think of any one person more deserving of this esteem honor. Let's roll the clock back a decade or two. I remember being fresh out of Vanderbilt and working at the Tennessee School for the Blind with the then high tech Apple lie computer. We received our first copy, let me rephrase that, first purchase of Braille Edit. We used it with the Perky, man were we on top of the world. I can still recall having to remember all the Ctrl commands that needed to be inserted into the document. I can remember staying up all evening trying to figure out why my document would not print out entirely from the Perky, and having to give the Perkins Brailler the empty buffer command. Lord, it seems like ages ago. We then progressed to BEX. After years of using the Apple Computers, TSB got on the band wagon and joined the MS-DOS environment, and began using Mega Dots, and still to this day, I will use nothing less.
David, what you, your company, and your companions have done for instructors of blind students is truly amazing and certainly will be very difficult to top. I still deal with student teachers and practicum students who are dealing with learning braille and your program makes them so much more comfortable.
Once again David, congratulations and thank you for all you have done for the Blind Community.
