Most of this web page is a single map of the world, with a red dot at the geographic center of the speakers of unique language. There are a handful of clusters of red on the map, one of them is West Africa. The problem for braille production is the wide variety of writing systems, best illustrated by this listing of some of the languages of Nigeria. Trying to produce a braille code for each language would be an overwealming task.
David realized it was possible to create a single, logical braille code for hundreds of languages across Africa that was true in spirit and design to the African braille codes that Duxbury Systems already supports.
