Grassy Pond Life Course and Trail

The 62 acres of mixed deciduous and evergreen forest surrounding a shallow 7 acre pond was purchased by the Town in 1971, matched by funds from a State grant. A comfortably groomed 1/2 mile trail, appropriate for walking, jogging or cross country skiing follows the shoreline of the pond. A Life Course on the trail was presented to the Town by the Junior Women's Club. In winter, the pond is ideal for ice skating. There is an unpaved parking area and picnic benches provided by Boy Scout Troop #159. The Jaycees spearheaded the development of the area. Since the Jaycees disbanded, the Rotary has maintained the area and trails.
